Analytics also handles the broader strategy of data collection and implementation. While reporting offers a snapshot of performance, analytics is the broader field which enables the visualisation of collected data. Analytics is the foundation which enables effective reporting.

Anicca handles analytics reporting by collecting and structuring data from various sources, such as Google Analytics. We focus on key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to our clients’ objectives, presenting information through clear and concise dashboards and reports (usually produced via Looker Studio). Additionally, we interpret the data to uncover trends and insights, enabling informed decision-making for marketing activities. Our approach ensures that clients receive comprehensive visibility into their performance, with analytics serving as the foundation for effective reporting and strategic development.

Analytics can transform traditional reporting by enabling deeper insights and more dynamic data presentations. Instead of static reports, analytics allows for instant data analysis, which may reveal trends and patterns as they occur. Overall, analytics shifts the focus from merely reporting metrics to understanding and optimising performance. In addition, static reports can take many hours (sometimes days) to compile. Such wasted time can now be spent elsewhere.

The three main types of analytical reports are descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive reports. Descriptive reports summarise past performance and provide insights into historical data, helping stakeholders understand what has happened. Diagnostic reports explain the reasons behind past performance by identifying correlations and relationships in the data. Predictive reports use statistical models to forecast future trends based on historical data, aiding businesses in anticipating changes and making informed decisions. Looker Studio from Google, is a data visualisation and business intelligence tool which allows users to create interactive and shareable dashboards and reports. Looker Studio enables users to connect to various data sources, including databases and Google Sheets. Users can transform raw data into meaningful insights. Looker Studio supports collaboration by allowing teams to share reports easily, making data-driven decision-making more accessible across aorganisations. Looker Studio natively connects with other Google products, such as Google Analytics (GA4), Google Ads and Google Search Console.

To set up Looker Studio, start by visiting the Looker Studio website and signing in with your Google account. Once logged in, create a new report by clicking on “Create” and selecting “Report.” Next, connect to your data source by choosing from options like Google Sheets, BigQuery, Google Analytics, Google Ads or other databases. After selecting a data source, configure the connection by following the prompts. Once connected, you can add charts, tables, and other visual elements to your report by dragging and dropping them onto the canvas. Though Looker Studio seems simple and user-friendly, there are a number of platform bugs which can really throw off your data.
