Objectives

  • Make the website much more attractive and user-friendly in order to increase conversion rates and sales revenue
  • Creation of easy navigation and Battery Finder to enable users to search for their specific vehicle with recommendations o which batteries will be suitable to them
  • Exploit the large volume of searches on mobile devices by developing a mobile responsive design
  • Have a technically SEO-friendly website to increase visitor numbers from organic listings
  • Keep existing database content from the old site but be able to easily upload and edit battery details (by products and vehicle types)

Our Solution

  • The site was created using the prestashop ecommerce CMS with data captured from the old site and imported into the new site.
  • A clean website design was created aiding navigation and usability
  • A custom ‘Battery Finder’ was built, which allows the user to quickly skip through to relevant products
  • A mobile responsive design was implemented to exploit the high volume of mobile traffic
  • Over 4000 redirects were put in place to channel all SEO benefits from the old site to the new and to redirect returning visitors to the most appropriate new page
  • Extra tracking was created to monitor the sales of particular vehicle batteries and manage stock levels across the site; something which could not be achieved on the old site.

Results

  • Site scores 86% for user friendliness for mobile devices
  • Bounce rates reduced by 42%
  • Pages per visit increased by 27%
  • Average order value increased by 5.24%
