The Race for Life Comes to Leicester
On Sunday the 5th July one of our team members, Jess Harvey, took part in the Race for Life in Leicester at Victoria Park. She ran 5K and has so far raised an amazing £127.90 for the cause.
The Race for Life is Cancer Research UK’s women only event that raises money for all 200 types of cancer. There are 5 types of races that women can take part in the 5K, 10K, Pretty Muddy, Half Marathon and a full marathon. Each event happens all over the UK throughout each year and has thousands of women taking part.
In Leicester thousands of women turned up to run, jog and walk the Race for Life, with an entourage of supporters cheering them on at each corner. The race also involved children of all ages and a lot of dog walkers enjoying the sunshine and the long walk around Victoria Park.
The event was a great success with each participant getting their own medal and goodie bag at the end of the race.
